MAUREEN HENRY - LABOUR PARTY CANDIDATE

MILNGAVIE - MAY 2012

I am Maureen Henry and I have lived in Bearsden for thirty five years and now live in Baljaffray with my husband Michael. My two children, Mark and Monica were educated in local schools and they worked in Milngavie when they were students. I was a Depute Head Teacher in a large Glasgow secondary school before becoming Head of the Hospital Education Service; I left that post in June 2011 to concentrate on winning a council seat for Labour in Milngavie.

JIM NEILL - LABOUR PARTY CANDIDATE

KIRKINTILLOCH EAST AND TWECHAR - MAY 2012

"LISTENING FOR LABOUR AND HELPING CHANGE OUR COMMUNITIES"

I have spent the past 45 years working in 24/7 front line services, delivering public safety and the last 15 of them were in Local Government, including East Dunbartonshire Council, so learning from those experiences I believe passionately in creating a more equal society where everyone has the right to feel safe, have the opportunity to fulfil their potential and no one is disadvantaged and left behind.

MANJINDER SHERGILL - SCOTTISH LABOUR

WORKING TO DELIVER FOR BEARSDEN SOUTH

It is important for local councillors and those hoping to be elected as local councillors, to understand what matters to you, in order to address these issues.
As the only candidate, of the four major political parties, who actually lives in this ward I believe I am well placed to fight for, protect and enhance many of the amenities we have in the area.
As Chairman of the Parent Council for my local Primary School, I am fully aware of the concerns that parents have and the importance of education.
In 2010 I was proud to appointed as the youngest JP for Glasgow & Strathkelvin.
I drive on the same local roads as you, I walk on the same pavements as you, my car has been damaged on the same potholes as yours.
I use the same local shops, parks, library, Post office and trains as you.
