These have been difficult times for local government and we stand on of what we have managed to achieve, despite these very difficult circumstances. The speech includes everything we are committed to deliver next year and also refers to what we have delivered in the past five years.

SAVE THE NHS
At Prime Minister’s Questions on Wednesday 8th February David Cameron made it clear that he will push ahead with his damaging bill against the overwhelming opposition of doctors, nurses, midwives and patients.

His bill is diverting billions away from patient care at a time when pressure on NHS resources is greater than it has ever been. Waiting lists are rising, services are squeezed and staff are being laid off. If we stopped this bill, we could use the money to protect 6000 NHS nurses.

If David Cameron is so determined to push through a hopelessly flawed bill that would cause serious damage to our NHS we must be even more determined to stop him. If we want to save the NHS we need to act together and act now. We are not against reform. We are against the destruction of the NHS and putting profits before patients. We want him to drop the bill.
Here’s what you can do:
Sign the petition. We need 100 000 signatures to force the Government to come to the Commons and tell us why they won’t drop it. We are half-way there – add your voice today.
